Chendi Angelo Carlo
Angelo Carlo Chendi (Ostellato, 10 luglio 1933) è un fumettista italiano, tra i più famosi e prolifici sceneggiatori della Disney Italia.
A partire dal 1952, Carlo Chendi ha scritto centinaia di storie con i personaggi della Disney, e ne ha creati molti altri, distinguendosi non soltanto nella house of mouse.
Trasferitosi in giovane età dal ferrarese a Rapallo, in Liguria, ha qui iniziato la sua attività di cartoonist, divenendo una delle colonne della cosiddetta scuola di Rapallo, insieme al Maestro Luciano Bottaro e al suo amico Giorgio Rebuffi, con i quali ha fondato nel 1968 il gruppo Bierrecì (acronimo di Bottaro, Rebuffi, Chendi) senza, però, smettere di collaborare con la Mondadori nella realizzazione di storie Disney.
Nel corso della sua carriera — svoltasi tra l’area del Tigullio e Milano — ha partecipato, fra le altre cose, alla realizzazione della rivista Re di Picche, la prima dello Studio Bierrecì, e alla realizzazione della tradizione italiana delle Grandi Parodie Disney: in questa serie una delle sue opere più illustri ed apprezzate, realizzata in collaborazione con Luciano Bottaro, è Il Dottor Paperus.
Sempre con Bottaro ha dato inizio alla grande saga di Rebo, il tiranno di Saturno.
Da anni cura la collana di libri Le Mani Comics. Nel 1996 riceve il Premio Yellow Kid come miglior autore, nel 1994 il premio Copertina d’Argento dalla Walt Disney Company e nel 2001 il premio UGiancu come miglior sceneggiatore.
Della sua vastissima produzione disneyana sono soprattutto importanti da ricordare le invenzioni dell’extraterrestre Ok Quack e del detective Umperio Bogarto (entrambi disegnati da Giorgio Cavazzano), l’identità segreta di Paperino “agente QQ7” (la storia Missione Bob Fingher ebbe il plauso della Disney Americana), e i duetti fra Pippo e la strega Nocciola.
Grande amico di penna di Carl Barks, lo ha portato in Italia durante il tour europeo del 1994, e a lui ha dedicato la XXXIII edizione della Mostra Internazionale dei Cartoonists, che cura, insieme ad uno staff di altri sceneggiatori, disegnatori, esperti e appassionati, dal 1972. Nel 2010 ha vinto il Premio Papersera alla carriera.

Angelo Carlo Chendi (born July 10, 1933) is an Italian cartoonist, among the most famous and prolific writers of Disney on Italy.
Since 1952, Carlo Chendi has written hundreds of stories with characters from Disney.
He moved at a young age from Ferrara in Rapallo, in Liguria, where he started his career as a cartoonist, becoming one of the pillars of the so-called school of Rapallo, along with Maestro Luciano Bottaro and his friend Giorgio Rebuffi, with whom he founded in 1968 the group Bierrecì (acronym of Bottaro, Rebuffi, Chendi) without, however, stop working with the Mondadori in the realization of Disney stories.
Throughout his career – took place between the area of Tigullio and Milan – participated, among other things, the creation of the magazine King of Spades, the first of Studio Bierrecì, and implementation of traditional Italian of Great Disney Feature : in this series one of his most famous and appreciated, in collaboration with Luciano Bottaro, is Dr. Paperus .
Always with Bottaro he began the great saga of Rebo, the tyrant of Saturn .
For years by the series of books Hands Comics. In 1996 he received the Yellow Kid as best author, in 1994 the prize Cover Silver from the Walt Disney Company and in 2001 the prize UGiancu best screenwriter.
Of its huge production Disney are especially important to remember inventions dell’extraterrestre Ok Quack and detective Umperio Bogarto (both designed by Giorgio Cavazzano), the secret identity of Donald Duck “agent QQ7” (the story Mission Bob fingher had acclaim Disney Americana), and the duet between Pippo and Witch Hazel.
Great pen pal of Carl Barks, took him in Italy during the European tour in 1994, and he has dedicated the XXXIII edition of the International Exhibition of Cartoonists, that care, along with a team of other writers, designers, experts and enthusiasts, since 1972. In 2010 he won the Prix Papersera career.
